Methodology and sources
Read the method, timing rules and caveats
This page uses the representative series of the BIS central bank policy rates dataset (WS_CBPOL, daily). The BIS releases daily observations roughly once a week, so the latest observation date may be several days old.
The observation date is not a policy decision date or effective date. Decision dates, next meetings, forecasts and hold decisions are not covered. An unchanged value is not treated as a decision to hold.
Where the BIS series is the mid-point of a target range (currently the United States), "Mid-point of target range" is shown next to the value. Upper and lower bounds are not reconstructed.
Meeting schedules, forecasts and probabilities are not included. Jurisdictions without data show No data and are never filled from other values.
Guide for "Awaiting update" (a heuristic of this site, not an official publication calendar): FX and bond yields more than 10 calendar days after the latest observation date, policy rates more than 21 calendar days, monthly commodity prices when the reference month is 3 or more months ago. If retrieval has not succeeded for 48 hours or more, this is shown separately regardless of the observation date. Market holidays are not determined.
