Indicators

Invite-only TradingView indicators for our members. Here is how each one looks and how to read it.

  • 01See the trend

    TOKUBAKU MA

    Live

See the direction of the flow, and how stretched it is, in a single band

    • Colour = direction of the flow (teal is up, pink is down)
    • Band width = the gap between short and long periods
    • Grey = not enough bars yet to decide a direction

    Teal = up / pink = down / grey = undecided.

The band's width is the gap between moving averages of different periods.

A schematic showing how it looks.

How TOKUBAKU MA looks and how to read it

Colour = direction of the flow

Teal is up, pink is down. Where lines of different periods share the same colour, the direction agrees from the short periods through to the long ones. A colour change marks a change in direction.

Width = gap between short and long periods

The band is a stack of moving averages with different periods. Where it is wide, the gap between the short and long periods has opened up; where it is narrow, the gap is small. In the figure, the lines spread further apart towards the right.

    Grey = not decided yet

The band is grey when there are not enough bars to decide a direction. It means the state has not been classified as up or down. Even if the line visibly slopes, grey itself carries no directional meaning.

You read direction from the band's colour and the spread between periods from its width. Values and colours change while a bar is still forming; that bar's display is fixed when it closes. The figure explains colour and shape and is not a reproduction of a real chart.

  • 02Read volume

    TOKUBAKU Tide

    Live

See whether activity right now is lower than usual for this time of day

    • Line = volume-weighted average of the last 15 bars
    • Amber = unusually quiet for this time of day
    • Grey = cannot judge yet (still building the baseline, or no volume)

    Colour does not indicate direction.

Pale white = normal / amber = unusually quiet for this time of day / grey = not judged.

By default it is a single VWMA calculated from the last 15 bars.

Panel example: an old bar dropped out

A schematic showing how it looks.

How TOKUBAKU Tide looks and how to read it

Colour = how quiet it is for this time of day

Current activity is compared against past volume at the same time of day. The line is pale white normally and turns amber only when it is unusually quiet for that time of day. States that cannot be judged, such as when the baseline has not built up yet, are shown in grey. Colour does not indicate direction.

Panel = why the line moved

A VWMA changes both because a new bar enters the calculation and because an old bar leaves it. The panel says which in one line: “mostly the new bar”, “an old bar dropped out”, “both”, “small move”, and so on. Even when price is flat, the line can move because an old bar dropped out.

What it can judge, and its limits

It needs a baseline history and volume data from your data feed. It supports intraday timeframes of 12 hours or less that divide a day evenly. It does not judge quietness when history is short, there is no volume, or the timeframe is unsupported. The quietness threshold is a setting, not a value proven to be optimal.

For FX and CFDs, volume is the number of price updates. What you see here is activity, not traded value. Values and colours change while a bar is still forming. Amber describes the current state; it does not predict the next direction or range.

  • 03Overlay higher candles

    Tokubaku Frame Candles

    Distribution pending

See higher-timeframe candles in the context of the previous range

    • Overlay higher-timeframe bodies and wicks on your chart
    • Distinguish closes outside the previous range from returns inside
    • Read range/ATR, body share and closing position

Cyan: up or unchanged; silver: down. A dashed frame is still forming.

A schematic showing how it looks.

Coming soon. You can already see the figure and the explanation.

How Tokubaku Frame Candles looks and how to read it

For example, overlay 15-minute candles on a 1-minute chart. H+ / L− means a close outside the previous high/low; H↩ / L↩ means an excursion followed by a close back inside. The panel shows range versus prior confirmed ATR, body share and closing position.

Use standard time-based charts and a strictly higher timeframe. Developing values change; historical frames and tags show the final shape after confirmation. The panel still refers to the latest candle when you scroll into history.

  • 04Measure price distance

    Tokubaku Range Ruler

    Distribution pending

Measure distance with fixed-price, ATR or percentage steps

    • Choose Price, ATR or Percent spacing
    • Historical scrolling moves the price and ATR reference together
    • Display distances in price, ticks, pips or percent

The thick tick marks the anchor. Cyan is above it, silver below. The faint band spans one step each way.

A schematic showing how it looks.

Coming soon. You can already see the figure and the explanation.

How Tokubaku Range Ruler looks and how to read it

Price uses a fixed distance, ATR a multiple of prior confirmed ATR, and Percent a share of the anchor price. Anchor to the rightmost visible candle’s close/open or a manual price. Historical viewing also moves the ATR reference; check HISTORY and the reference timestamp.

Standard charts only. The ATR timeframe must be at least the chart timeframe. Set the price per pip for each instrument. Manual prices stay fixed when scrolling. Steps do not represent position size, profit or recommended trade levels.
